US Bombs Iranian Nuclear Sites: Tensions Rise in Middle East

US Airstrikes Hit Iran’s Nuclear Sites, Middle East Tensions Soar

President Trump orders airstrikes on Iran’s key nuclear sites, escalating conflict in the Middle East. Will this lead to peace talks or more war?

The United States launched major airstrikes against Iranian nuclear sites on Saturday, marking a dramatic shift in U.S. foreign policy under President Donald Trump’s second term.

President Trump confirmed that American bombers hit three major nuclear facilities inside Iran: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. In a televised speech and on social media, he called the mission a “complete success” and warned Iran not to retaliate.

“Iran’s nuclear threat must end now,” Trump said. “We destroyed their top nuclear sites. If they strike back, we’ll hit even harder.”

Massive Bombs Target Underground Nuclear Site

Six U.S. B-2 bombers dropped 12 powerful bunker-buster bombs—called GBU-57A/B “Massive Ordnance Penetrators”—on the Fordow nuclear facility. This 30,000-pound weapon is designed to destroy deep underground targets and is being used for the first time in combat.

“No other military in the world could have done this,” Trump wrote. “Now is the time for peace.”

Will There Be War or Peace?

The decision to bomb Iran comes just days after Trump gave diplomacy a two-week window. Talks in Geneva with European and Iranian leaders didn’t go well, and Trump reportedly believed Iran would not negotiate seriously.

Iran had warned of retaliation if attacked. The U.S. military moved forces into the region, expecting a possible response from Tehran.

Despite the airstrikes, Trump says he still hopes for peace, and there are no immediate plans for further military action—unless Iran responds aggressively.

“I’ve always said I won’t let Iran get nuclear weapons,” Trump stated during his speech.

Israel Backed the US Strike

The White House said Israel was informed ahead of the strikes, and Trump coordinated closely with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. After the attack, Netanyahu praised Trump’s leadership and said the operation would “change history.”

“Thank you, President Trump. The people of Israel thank you,” Netanyahu said.

What’s Next?

With these airstrikes, Trump is now deeply involved in one of the most dangerous conflicts in the world. Whether it leads to peace negotiations or a larger war depends on how Iran responds in the coming days.
