Lauren Alaina Reveals the Special Meaning Behind Her Daughter’s Name, Beni Doll Arnold

untry music star Lauren Alaina and her husband Cam Arnold recently welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Beni Doll Arnold, born on June 11 at 8:44 AM. Arriving thirteen days past her due date, Beni weighed 7 lbs, 13 oz and measured 19 inches long. Just days later, Lauren shared an emotional video explaining the touching story behind her daughter’s unique name.

Lauren chose the first name Beni to honor two important men in her life who have passed away: her grandfather, Benny, and her father, J.J. Suddeth. Her grandfather, Papa Benny, played a big role in raising her and supporting her love of music. To make the name feel more feminine, she spelled it “Beni” with an “i,” inspired by a girl she met years ago.

Later, she discovered “Beni” means “crimson” in Japanese, a powerful connection to her father, a passionate Alabama Crimson Tide fan. To Lauren, it felt like a sign from him—his way of saying “Roll Tide” from heaven. Cam chose the middle name Doll in memory of his Aunt Lucy Doll Arnold, who had no children of her own but was deeply loved in their family. She was born on the Arnold family’s ancestral farm, which has been in their family for over 200 years.

The video closes with the couple holding their newborn, smiling with love. “Pretty cute name,” Cam said. Lauren added, “She’s one of a kind. We love it.”

To mark Beni’s arrival, Lauren released a heartfelt song titled “Heaven Sent”, dedicated to both her daughter and her late father. She revealed that she found out she was pregnant shortly after losing her dad, making the song especially meaningful. It was released just before Father’s Day, Lauren’s first without her father, but now a day to celebrate Cam becoming a dad.

Co-written with HARDY and Ben JohnsonHeaven Sent speaks to the feeling of receiving a gift from above during a time of deep grief. It captures Lauren’s journey through loss, love, and new life—perfectly timed to welcome her daughter into the world.
